JAYNE LOO
​Hello! My name is Jayne. I previously graduated from IACT College with my Diploma In Mass Communication. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism in the University of Sunderland. Other than being a journalist, I am also a writer and I am passionate about my work. I often go by 'Jayne Loo' and had previously written multiple pieces for Malaysia's leading English daily - The Star Media Group as a journalist and produced quite a number of articles while I was with the publication.
Released in December 2021, I was also one of the authors of novel BackLane Tales, a novel published by 33 students about the social issues in Malaysia. Together with two other authors, we released the story - ‘Feeling Different’. I have also put in time, effort and passion into multimedia journalism platform, YOUth Media and was the Head Of Production, in charge of producing video and podcast content suitable for the platform.
I spent a year as the Head of Production before moving on to various projects before I graduated. I am also the co-founder and ex-host of SEMBANG with PARTS . Along with that, I also hosted Daily Teh in a few episodes, and produced several podcasts about certain youth centred topics and spoke with special guests on several episodes including a feature podcast with Ili Ruzanna @helloitsili from Malaysia's Leading Radio Station - HITZ.FM.
My skills & Qualifications
I have also gained skills in Public Relations studies, specifically on campaign planning. I have also completed my Media Law studies and have various qualifications for the NCTJ (National Council of Journalists).
